Benidorm has two large beaches and several small ones (nearby). Everyone can get their money’s worth here, because the beaches each have their own character. We list the beaches in and around Benidorm.
Playa de Levante
Levante beach is the most famous beach in Benidorm. The beach is 2 kilometers long and has enough facilities to make it a great day. Playa de Levante consists of golden soft sand and you can easily put your towel somewhere if a beach bed is not within the budget. On this beach you also have a special area for wheelchair users.
Playa de Poniente
Playa de Poniente is the largest sandy beach in Benidorm. The beach is no less than 2.5 kilometers long. On the beach there are enough beds and umbrellas for rent at affordable prices. Next to Playa de Poniente is the Paseo Maritimo, a beautiful well-maintained promenade. So if you don’t feel like sand between your toes, you can take a nice walk here and still enjoy the beach.
Cala Mal Pas
The beach of Cala Mal Pas can be found between the beaches of Playa de Levante and Playa de Poniente. The beach is about 120 meters long and much quieter than the two larger beaches in Benidorm. The water here is also clear and not too deep. From the beach you also have a good view of Benidorm island, the symbol of Benidorm: l’Illa de Benidorm.
Cala Almadrava
The beach of Cala Almadrava consists of a combination of sand and rocks. The beach is about 100 meters long. Don’t expect many facilities here, except for a lifeguard in the summer months. The water here is shallow and crystal clear. It is advisable to bring a snorkel set. It is good to know that clothing is optional at Cala Almadrava. So if naked people on the beach are not your thing, we would skip this beach.
Cala Tio Ximo
The beach of Cala Tio Ximo feels just as authentic and special as Cala Almadrava. So you are also dealing with sand and boulders here. You cannot rent beds and parasols as you can on the large beaches of Benidorm, so it is advisable to be well prepared. The beach is approximately 60 meters long and keep in mind that it is difficult to park in the area.
Rincon de Conil
Rincon de Conil is a popular nudist beach near Benidorm. It actually belongs to the municipality of Villajoyosa. The beach is relatively difficult to reach, but so worth it. The beach feels idyllic and you almost feel like you’re on an island. Don’t forget to bring your snorkeling set here too if the underwater world is your thing. Peace and nature are important at this beach
Platja de La Cala de Finestrat
Platja de La Cala de Finestrat is located just next to Benidorm and definitely recommended if you are in the area. The beach is quieter than the main beaches in Benidorm and it is more oriented towards families or people looking for peace and quiet. For example, smoking is prohibited on this beach. On the promenade of Platja de La Cala de Finestrat you also have plenty of restaurants to end your beach day perfectly.
